Gole dell'Alcantara in Messina

The "Gole dell'Alcantara" are a veritable natural canyon originated from the cooling of lava flows, located in the middle of the waters of the Alcantara River.

The Botanical Park and Alcantara Gorge Geological promote access to the beach of the gorge which is located in front of their mouth. The downstream part of the gorge is rich in lakes, rock formations and small waterfalls. Among the most famous trails, you find the Path of the Gorge Trail and Eleanor. Among the most striking and characteristic points: the terrace of Venus, the balcony of the muses, the terraces slide, the lake and the naos.
