3. BAROQUE STYLE IN LECCE & SALENTO

Salento is a region of south Puglia famous for its white sandy beaches, "carribean" crystal-clear water, nice typical foods and engaging ancient dances performed by girls and boys during summer time.

Lecce is also the town of Baroque, a typical architectural style that you can see among the streets, courts, churches and piazza (squares). After a morning stroll in the town you can reach the coast (Melendugno and Otranto) and the Ionic coast (Porto Ceasero and Gallipoli) ending up with a visit to the misterious early Christian monuments as dolmens, churches and underground oil mills (Giurdignano).
