Among the main beaches and shorelines of the Syracuse area, we recall: the beach of Arenella, located just beyond the Peninsula and the Magdalen, which is about 20 minutes by car from the city center. Here there are both white sandy cliffs, lapped by crystal clear; the seaside village of Marzamemi rich of lots of inviting locals, with a small but attractive beach; the Beach of Ants in the town of Pachino, consisting of three bays of golden sand separated from each other by characteristic headlands. At Cassibile, 15 miles from Syracuse, is located the beach of Fontane Bianche, so named because of the numerous natural springs of fresh water along the coast. Continuing the route of the coast of Syracuse, you can visit the beaches of Gallina in Avola; Agnone Beach in Augusta; Oasis of Vendicari, in the town of Noto. Between Noto and Vendicari famous the beach of Calamosche, known as “Funni Musca”, which is located between Vendicari and Noto, surrounded by dunes, marshes and vegetation. To the south of the city of Syracuse, you can admire the extraordinary Maddalena peninsula, characterized by impressive cliffs that fall steeply into the sea and the famous Grotta del Pellegrino. This part of the sea belongs to the Marine Protected Area of Plemmirio.
