Mpanatigghi - Ingredients: 500 gr. flour 00; 150 gr. lard; 130 gr. sugar and other 200 gr . for the filling ; 60 gr. marsala; 5 egg yolks and 1 whole egg; 200 gr. of minced beef; 200 gr. toasted and chopped almonds; 100 gr. dark chocolate; 100 gr. walnut kernels; 10 gr . cinnamon; 2 cloves; powdered sugar; 1 pinch of baking soda; extra virgin olive oil.
Preparation - Pour the flour into a bowl, add the lard, egg and marsala. Add a little bit of warm water if the mixture is found to be dry. Knead until dough is soft and smooth, and let it rest for an hour. Iron and form a thin disks with a diameter of about 6 cm. Chop the flesh of beef, add the almonds, walnuts, cloves and crushed cinnamon and grated chocolate.
Stir the batter and pour it in the center of the disks, folding them in a crescent shape. Make a small incision on the swollen portion of the bundle obtained. Add oil in a baking dish, arrange the ‘mpanatigghie and cook in the oven at 180°C for about 30 minutes. After baking, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
